I've been experimenting with backgrounds lately as I hone and fine-tune these old, rusty artistic skills.
I tried sketching these figures out directly on the unpainted canvasses but have discovered the pencil marks are really hard to erase on bare canvas. Some marks just bleed through white and yellows. To my surprise I found if I make a great background first and then make light pencil marks, all errors are easily erased. Yea me.
This experiment generated 17 new paintings. As shown below. These will be available at the 2nd Street Art Center in Crescent City CA real, soon - promise.
